The Vinyl Anachronist #120 Now Online at Perfect Sound Forever
My latest Vinyl Anachronist column is now online at Perfect Sound Forever. In this installment, I discuss my love and admiration for the affordable and legendary Denon DL-103 phono cartridge. You can enjoy it here.
As always, thank you. I have been on the fence about going in the LOMC direction for some time. Carts in this category are essentially out of my reach (with a young family, hifi is not the budgetary priority).
However, I pulled the trigger after reading your article and couldn't be more pleased! I initially ran the DL 103 through my internal phono section on my NAD integrated. But then I added a 1:16 SUT to my Budgie all tube based phono and WOWWOWWOW! Still working on placement of my components to get rid of a hum coming from the AC power source of other components, but the detail brought out by the DL 103 is nothing short of amazing! I've only got a handful of hours on this cart/set-up but couldn't be more satisfied. Thanks for your article, and all the effort I'm sure goes into maintaining this site.
